Guest Post: Wanderlost Vintage!

Here's a guest post from one of this month's sponsors, Jess of Wanderlost Vintage! Enjoy!

These are a few of my favorite things. . .

Hello all! I’m super excited to have the chance to post on Kaelah’s awesome blog.  I’ve been thinking lately about the “favorite things” that I have in my wardrobe—staples, you might say, my “go-to” pieces—and I notice that not only do these items define the essence of my style, they also have somewhat sentimental stories attached to them.  That’s what I love about vintage—each item has a story, and I love to imagine the lives it lived before it came to me.

First of all, every  girl has a favorite LBD—yes, that of course stands for the essential “Little Black Dress”. I found mine 5 years ago at a vintage shop in Minneapolis (wish I could remember the name of it!). It was right after I moved to the Midwest, and my first trip to the Twin Cities. I call it my Audrey dress.

So, I can totally relate to Kaelah’s recent post about not particularly wanting to change her style.  I’ve spent years honing mine, all while “trying” other looks, but what it boils down to is that I’m a short dress,  leggings, cardigan, boots kinda gal. My current favorite pair of boots are these black Cowgirl boots that I found at a thrift store in Montana, during a road trip with my boyfriend. I almost didn’t buy them because they were $26, which seemed ridiculous to me simply because they were in a dusty little thrift store. But I’m so glad I got over that. . .

There’s nothing more sentimental to girls than jewelry, right? Here is my favorite piece: an antique cameo locket , with a note from my Honey inside (he snuck it in there 3 years ago, when we first started dating, and I still cherish it).

Finally, my very most favorite thing in my wardrobe: my red jacket. I’m an Aries, so red is my power color. I got this coat 8 years ago (can’t believe it was that long ago!) when I was a student in Italy. I saw it at the market, and HAD to have it! I was poor, and couldn’t really afford it, but I talked the man down from 100 euros to 70 (in my broken Italian)! I still wear it every Spring and Fall—it’s starting to show it’s age, but I don’t think I could ever get rid of it.

So, what are some of your favorite things?
