Ivy Vines and Tan Lines

Would you believe me if I told you that I really loved this area that we shot pictures? This is, again, the same place as Country Cabin Bumpkin and Dandelion Seed! I have a knack for changing clothes in the car. We shot a lot of outfit photos this day so I could have some stuff to hold me over while I was galavanting around Chicago! (We're back, by the way! Got in last night and we were pooped!) We came home a day early as we had a ton of things to deal with and the pile keeps growing higher! We're about to head out and go pick up our girls at my parents' house a few hours away. We had every intention of driving down last night but after 11.5 hours in the car and traveling, I wanted to just sit still.

If you like this dress and want it for yourself, you can grab it up at Kaelah's Closet! I listed it this morning as I got a longer one. It's a size 3 but it magically fit me so it's not like it's a skin-tight body con dress or anything. I have so many fun things to share on the blog this week! I hope I can play catch up quick enough to get to the "picture an hour" bit I did on Saturday and such! I'm going to be hard at work on Hive + Honey stuff on Wednesday and Thursday. It's taken a bit of a backseat these past couple of weeks and I'm ready to churn out some good things! I've got another headband mock-up in the works so hopefully I like it enough to add to the inventory! I've been loving all of the emails and tweets I've been getting with y'all rocking your headpieces! I can't wait to share more of those soon, too!

Man, I wish blog posts just wrote themselves. That'd be nice, yeah? ;) Happy Tuesday!

Stripes For Sale

I'm having some technical difficulties with my computer. I'm really trying to chalk it up to Mercury Retrograde but I'm honestly not too sure. My computer is a beast... or at least it should be. With 4 gigs of RAM, a hefty harddrive and some serious MacBook Pro power, you think I could surf the web without any prolems. But no. My browser lags and freezes, giving me the 'Spinny Ball Of Doom' almost like clockwork... every 30 seconds. This obviously had a huge impact on my productivity and it frustrates me to no end. I honestly hate Firefox and Safari, and I swear by Chrome, but I don't know if Chrome is the reason for my problems. I should probably explore further before heading over to the Apple Genius Bar, but at this point I'm ready to just catapult the computer from a downtown parking garage. (That's a little bit of an exaggeration. But really. Computer problems are like car problems... they just suck.)

Mike and I have been brainstorming the past few days and I can honestly say that I'm very excited about projects that lie ahead of me. Some things had to be moved around and some bummer things came up (more on that later), but I can without doubt say that I'm looking forward to our little future and some projects I'm hoping to share on the blog soon!

This outfit was just something I threw on for a short time yesterday. I've only worn this dress once and I've had it for years. I bought it at a little boutique on Haight Street in San Francisco back in the day and I just never really wore it much. I've decided to sell it on Kaelah's Closet so click HERE if you'd like to see the specs and buy it up for yourself! It's a great dress but wearing it once in a few years is kind of sad. (I'm going through my closet slowly but surely and I'm deciding what to sell based on how much I like the outfit photos. Follow Kaelah's Closet if you wanna stay up to date!)

This headband is my new little diddy that I've been making. I've made a few different variations in color, fabric, size and the like. There will be a bridal section and just a regular every day section. I had every intention of leaving Etsy (and still plan to soon) but again, I'll post more on that later when I have all of my ducks in a row. It's a busy time right now and I'm trying to find the time (and energy, with all of these computer problems) to respond to emails! xo

Kaelah's Closet

Two fun things to post about in just one entry! I don't know if this little blog can handle all of the excitement! Well, first off, you might have seen some lovely ladies around the blogosphere a'buzz with some fun little news! We just launched our very own 'zine! The 'zine is a 14-page 'zine full of DIY, recipes, tips to building a great blog, and lots of other goodies! Can't give it all away here! And guess what?! You can order your very own hard-copy straight to your door for $4 + $1 shipping! (That's domestic!) Don't worry, international friends! We've got you covered, too! Over in my left sidebar you will see two Buy It Now buttons! Click the second one! (It's $4 + $2.50 shipping!) This is just the first issue so you better bet that it's just going to get better and better from here! Help support the printed word and snag a copy! (It'll be worth something someday!)

Here's how it works:
We will be accepting pre-orders until September 1. After that date, the zine's will be printed and shipped right to your front door!!

The cost for the 'zine is $4 an issue and $1 for shipping of course.
All you have to do to pre-order your copy is click on the "Buy Now" button below!!

It seems that I'm having some technical difficulties with the PayPal button so hop on over to Janel's post and buy it! Her button works! haha CLICK HERE to buy! (You can buy the 'zine from my left-hand sidebar! International readers, too!)

Let me know if you decide to grab one up! You will NOT regret it!

As for other exciting news, Kaelah's Closet has re-launched! This time we've got our own blog (because photobucket was a bit tricky!) There are only 26 items up for grabs right now but I'll be adding more as the days/weeks pass! All you've gotta do is leave your PayPal address in the comments of what you want, or shoot me an email at KaelahsCloset@gmail.com and I can combine shipping for you, too! Feel free to ask any questions that you may have! CLICK HERE to visit Kaelah's Closet!

It's that time of month, too! I'm still accepting sponsors for the month of September, but there are only 3 spots left! Snag one up by clicking on the "Sponsor KaelahBee" button over in the right sidebar! Email me and we'll get the ball rolling! I've purchased a large ad on Elsie's blog, A Beautiful Mess, for the month September and she's unveiling her new layout to her 10,000+ followers! Get in on the action!

Don't worry, I have a Mixtape post to be doing soon! If I don't get it up tonight, it'll go up tomorrow! I also have a fun Sponsor Giveaway coming up! 4 chances to win some goodies! Yay!

Outfit Post: Saturday, August 14

Today's outfit isn't even relevant anymore as I stripped it off the moment I walked into the door and changed into something else. It was just one of those days. It just didn't look right! Granted we shot less than a quarter of the frames we normally do (Mike just click, click, clicks), but it wasn't him and it wasn't me that was off... it was the outfit. I think this dress is the most darling thing ever. Give me polka dots, and add a cinched belt and the colors red, white and blue and boy oh boy, you've got a happy Kaelah! But unfortunately I wasn't aware of how unflattering it is on me! The slink of the sleeves, the kimono-style silhouette, and the low-waist. I've got a short torso and a tiny tiny bust.... so the kimono-esque top only adds a lot of bulk up there. Then it goes in at my waist, and flares back out at my hips. Making me look like a very very busty hourglass, which I'm simply not. (Let's face it, I'm a pear. And I'm okay with that haha). This dress sort of showed me what I'd look like had I much larger, err, lady lumps? Haha, awkward!  Anyway, I think this dress looks so perfect on so many other girls, but I just don't think I pull it off the way they do. I feel like the #1 most important rule of dressing yourself is dressing for your body type, and to me, this just didn't cut it. I've only ever worn this dress once (here) so I'm thinking I'm just going to sell it to a lovely gal who can rock it out.

If you're interested in buying it (the belt is included), shoot me an email: kaelahbee@gmail.com. It's an H&M size 10. I can't bear having it in my closet (because it's so cute and I desperately want it to work!) but I also can't bear the thought of selling it to Plato's Closet for like $2 when it's brand new! Anyway, there's only one picture today (but look! No black flats! Huzzah! I'm so incredibly pale.... oh my.)

Kaelah Outfit 8.14.10

{Outfit Details o8.14.1o}
{Dress + Belt: H&M $35}
{Shoes: Ecote for Urban Outfitters $48}

Rather than wear the polka-dot frock, I'm an outfit repeater! I threw on this dress with this cardigan and I'm going to go about my day... in black flats. Hey, I tried! I have a lot to do today (most of yesterday's list didn't get completed), but I started my day much too early and packed up Mike's lunch for him while he was still snoozin. I'm going to try to get up to Nashville today before work but no promises! I hope you're all having a fun weekend!

Shop Kaelah's Closet

(click above to view)

I've been bogged down with finals lately and I haven't had much time to promote Kaelah's Closet. Basically it's just a bunch of clothes I'm trying to get rid of before moving to NYC. I'll be selling them for the next 3-4 weeks and then I'll stop while I'm in NY. Everything needs to be gone because I have NO desire to move this stuff again! haha

They're all priced in albums on my photobucket, but I'm willing to combine shipping and even work out a deal with you if you want to buy some stuff. A lot of the stuff is going pretty quickly so shoot me an email as soon as you see something you like. If you want measurements, ask me for them. I'll try to get them ASAP!

Email me at KAELAHSCLOSET(at)GMAIL(dot)COM!

Again, CLICK HERE to view all the items for sale! Shoot me an email and PLEASE include the link to the articles of clothing you're inquiring about! Thanks!

The Past Few Days...

Yesterday Mike and I woke up bright and early to try and face the day. His dad and his mechanic came over to look at his car and try and diagnose the problem. We decided it was a gorgeous day for outfit photos and G wanted to run and play in the creek. We willingly obliged (Read: I came running behind after I realized the two of them were already creek stomping!) I had my camera in tow so we shot a few photos and what not.

Afterwards Mike snapped a few outfit photos because it's been a hot minute since I've done it. They are as follows....

{Outfit Details : 4.14.2010}
{Dress: Charlotte Russe $28}
{Cardigan: Charlotte Russe $25}
{Charm Bracelet: Juicy Couture $400~}
{Flats: Ross $12}

After outfit photos, Mike dropped me off for Print 2 class, but as per usual, I couldn't do much without my computer. I brainstormed the idea for my vegan bakery designs (final project) and then he came to get me. We decided to venture to Nashville to get Mike's septum pierced so we found ourselves up at Icon. All went well and we headed to The Gulch to go to Urban Outfitters. I ended up buying the most adorable Zooey-Deschanel-Blue (a la 500 Days of Summer) Dress and Mike picked up about 4 v-necks. We headed back to Franklin only to change, turn around and go back to Nashville... but this time to Opry Mills Mall. I just can't help myself. Luckily I didn't pick up a single thing in Forever 21, but the other stores surprised me. 2 stores I NEVER step foot in... I walked out with a dress in each (The Democracy dress or whatever from ModCloth @ A'Gaci {for $20! Thanks for the heads up to the commenter a few posts back!}) and one in Papaya, along with a straw fedora! Then we went to Charlotte Russe and I found 3 dresses! One is a denim little number, very 1990's vibe. Another was a more tribal dress, then the burgundy one you'll see below!

We came home, snuggled up and watched I Love You, Man (I LOVE that movie! Almost as much as I love Paul Rudd!). Sleepy time!

We woke up this morning and off we went! We snapped a few outfit photos yet again (Two days in a row!) and I headed to class.

{Outfit Details : 4.15.2010}
{Dress: Charlotte Russe $28}
{Boots: Thrift in San Fran $25}
{Hat: Papaya $8}

{Outfit Details : 4.15.2010}
{Vneck: Urban Outfitters $12}
{Jeans: Secondhand from Kaelah, CR $25}
{Wood Plugs: Omerica Organics $45}
{Shoes: Walmart $3}

Mike started his first day at REI today so he was gone when I came home from school. It was odd trying to busy myself for 9 and a half hours while he was gone. I couldn't do homework (still no computer) but I managed to download the trial of Adobe Photoshop CS4 onto the macbook so I edited the photos above for Flickr. Then I cleaned the house, took G to the dog park, and then watched 3 episodes of Felicity. I even managed to have dinner cooked for Mike when he got home. WIN! Now we're about to settle in and maybe watch some Hulu. Who knows!

BTW: I REALLY NEED TO GET RID OF ALL OF THESE CLOTHES! They're all in "price categories" or whatever, but I'm flexible. I just need to get them out the door.. I have NO room! I don't want to move them when we move out in December so please buy them! haha If you want more than one item, email me and I'll combine shipping and reduce the price! Feel free to make an offer for one or more items! I'm totally open! {Send email inquiries to kaelahscloset@gmail.com} I accept PayPal, concealed cash, money order, and {sometimes} check. I can provide ample references just to prove that I'm not a scam artist ;)

KAELAH'S CLOSET : 10% OFF EVERYTHING!

SPRING BREAK SALE!

I'm selling over 400 clothing items to prepare for my lovely little move to NYC because we all know that there isn't a closet big enough in that city for all my crap. I don't have it ALL up yet, but that's because I'll add more when a good portion of what is up goes. Everything is 10% off... if you want multiple items and you want a ~deal, email me. we'll work something out!

I *prefer* PayPal, but I have done concealed cash and money orders in the past. That is at your own discretion. PayPal is quicker, safer, and overall more effective but I realize not everyone has it.

There are dresses, shoes, hats, purses, shirts, blah blah blah! Everything! I used to have a MySpace for stuff I'd try to sell but it was hacked when I was in Europe. This is just easier for me.

If you want anything, please send the link to the item to: KAELAHSCLOSET@GMAIL.COM!

CLICK HERE to see all the goodies. Feel free to email me with questions about the items. I will try to email back ASAP... I'll be out and about but I'll happily oblige.

If you want to repost the banner and help me get some of this stuff sold, I will be forever grateful! I'll even give you a better deal if you buy stuff! I'll try to update the items as *SOLD* as soon as I possibly can after the transaction goes through. I really just care about moving these items out because they take up so much room and I can't take them when I move. :)

here is the HTML code!

Happy Shopping! oh, and Happy St. Patty's Day!

kaelah's closet

after being on hiatus for far too long (thanks to this awesome semester! *grumble*), kaelah's closet is back. i'm SERIOUSLY in need of getting rid of all of this stuff on my photobucket. every bit of it has to go. why? because i have about 5x as much stuff to add and upload AFTER this is all gone, because:
  1. my closets aren't big enough
  2. i don't wear any of it anymore (if i ever did to begin with)
  3. i'm moving back to nyc in may for a few months, can't take it with me.
  4. i'm moving out of this house for good in 12 months, can't take it with me.
you get the idea. if you're interested in any of it, please send a email to kaelahscloset (at) gmail (dot) com and we'll discuss prices! i accept paypal (its preferred!), concealed cash or money order via mail. if you pay with paypal, i can have the item shipped the same day! :) awesome.

click HERE to see all of the stuff up for grabs!
