Tagged by MarySew!

I was tagged by MarySew to answer her 8 questions. She went on to tag 7 other people as well. So now it's my turn to answer her 8 and then tag 8 people to answer my 8! Lots of eights floating around! Okay!

1. Are you a facebook junkie?
No. I actually despise Facebook for the most part. I held out for so long and didn't get one, but finally gave in because that's what everyone at my school used. So we would all Facebook Chat with each other during class. This was actually a resourceful tool for passing along notes we may have missed, etc. I log in and check it, but I update rarely and I don't even mess with any of those event things or games. Gah!

2
. I give all kind of things stupid names (my TV’s name is Stevie, my iPod’s name is Lydia, my former vacuum cleaner was called the Pornstar.. ) do you give things names? If yes, give some examples.

Absolutely! My car (a silver Pontiac Solstice) is named Delilah, my MacBook Pro is named Francois, I had a sweet Fender Telecaster named Moxie. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones jumping out at me.

3. Are you rooting for a team in the soccer/football worldcup? If yes, which team?

No. I mean, I have home-team pride and all, so I would've been proud of the US had they made it farther but I don't really give a hoot about soccer and I don't pretend to during the World Cup (which a lot of people are guilty of! I'm looking at you! ;P)

4.
What is your most annoying habit?

I bite my nails. Gross, I know. Other than that, I don't really have any that I'm aware of really. (They may be annoying to others... but not so much myself haha)

5.
Buffy Summers, Summer Glau or Midsummer Night’s Dream?

I have no idea?

6.
If you were a rock star, what would your rock star name be?

That's a tough one... Penny. Plain and simple. Not very "rock star"-esque but then again, I doubt I'd be playing too much "rock". I'm more laid back.

7. What’s the title of the nearest book you can grab?

There's a big pile of magazines next to me... but the books are all in the back of the office (yes, I'm at work right now. haha)

8.
What is your favourite song right now?

I'm really loving "Clementine" by Sarah Jaffe still. Someone suggested it in my FormSpring last week and man, they were SO spot on! You can download it in this week's mixtape by going back a couple of entries!

Awesome! Now it's my turn to tag some lovely folks! I normally bypass this part of the deal but I'll play fair this time! Up next is:

And my eight questions are:

1. If you could have a tea party and invite any 4 people, who would you invite and why?
2. What is one city you'd love to explore?
3. Describe your perfect day!
4. What are some of your guilty pleasures? (Music, food, movies, etc)
5. What is your astrological sign and do you think you fit the description?
6. When do you feel your prettiest?
7. Do you keep a written journal or diary?
8. What is your main life goal?

Be sure to leave links to your answers so I can see!

Survey: Tagged by Em!

I was tagged by Emilie over at Town Mouse in the Country a few days ago and now that I finally have some down time, I thought I should do it! Here we go!

1. Where did you grow up?
Hohenwald, Tennessee. Never heard of it? Don't worry, You probably never will. BUT! Fun fact: Meriwether Lewis (of Lewis & Clark Expedition) died there so we're Lewis County. And we have the largest wildlife Elephant Sanctuary refuge (3,000 acres) in the country. It was my first job when I was 15. I LOVED IT. So fun! (go visit www.elephants.com)

2. Do you consider your childhood a happy one?
For sure. It sucked not having a dad around, but my mom always made up for it in the most amazing ways. We went to a lot of concerts together and she always came to all of my sports games. It was really good. :D

3. Do you have any siblings?
I am an only child. (My biological father has a son and daughter, 16 and 14 years older, respectively). But I grew up as an only child since it was just my mom and I.

4. Who did you think was the smartest person in the world?
I honestly couldn't tell you! That was so long ago! I thought I was the cat's pajamas though! hahaha

5. Did you ever run away from home?
Nope. Never saw the point. If my mom and I got in an argument, I'd leave for a little while or something. Usually because I knew I was probably overreacting so I let myself chill. That's it though.

6. What about being a child do you miss the most?
All the fun concerts my mom took me to. We always had so much fun! And not having to worry about backstabbing friends or drama that was anything more than Billy chasing you and taking the basketball away on the playground.

7. Where did your family go on vacation?
We went to Gulf Shores a couple of times I think?

8. What is something you really wish you hadn't started earlier in life?
Nothing that I can think of.

9. Did you have any serious accidents or illnesses as a child?
I had a severe case of chronic Asthma growing up. The doctor didn't know what was wrong with me so my mom finally took me to a new dude when I was 2. He said it was asthma and I had a really hard time with it when I was little. Pretty much in and out of the hospital non-stop until I was like 7 or 8 maybe? Living under a little clear tent over my hospital bed. I also had something wrong with my bladder and my eye. I'm still blind in my left eye and I literally have a bladder the size of an acorn haha

10. Did you have any nicknames?
Kae, KaeBear, KaeBeau, KB, Bee, Beauregarde, Sweet Pea, HoneyBear, Baby Carrot, etc.
11. Name 5 school days accomplishments.
  1. Honor Roll and Beta Club, Honor Society, mumbo jumbo K-12. Graduated with "honors" and a 3.97 GPA
  2. Founder and President of the French Club 2years, and officer/ambassador for a crap-ton of other clubs.
  3. Pretty much ran the yearbook with a girl named Kelsey (this prompted my love for graphic design).
  4. Played sports from age 4 to 18 (Cheerleading, Softball and Volleyball)
  5. Never got in a fight, or called to the Principal's office.
12. What stories have been told about yourself as a baby?
I climbed on top of the refrigerator when I was like 18 months old or something? Idk. I also remember that when I was asked what babydoll I wanted, I immediately reached for the black baby. My mom let me have it. This always puts a smile on my face.

13. Did religion/church play a part in your childhood social activities?
No, not really. We'd go to church on Sundays and such but I stayed sick and in the hospital so much that we'd always miss. We're not overly religious, at all, really.

14. What objects do you remember from your childhood?
A little table and chairs set that belonged to my late-cousin (who I'm partially named after) who was killed 14 years before I was born. A red Chevy Corvette hot-wheels-esque car I drove off in down the street when I was like 4. A bouncing horse I'd always ride. So many great toys!

15. What was the number of students in your graduating class?
107. I was the first person to walk across the stage to get my diploma :D

16. What is one thing that you never did in high school that you wish you would have done?
Nothing, really. I really enjoyed high school and I feel like I made the most of it.

17. Did you go to college and what was your major?
I'm currently a senior (graduating in December) at O'More College of Design. I'll be getting a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications (graphic design). I started O'More as a Fashion Design major but changed my mind after the freshman year. This put me a semester behind so I'm graduating in a total of 4.5 years.

18. What was the funniest thing someone wrote in your yearbook?
Oh gosh I can't even begin to imagine. Hannah, Kristin and I all had some GREAT inside jokes! I remember drawing pictures and writing "la la la la la COFFEE IN THE ROAD! la la la la la" SO GREAT! so many awesome memories.
19. How has your hometown changed since you were a kid?
The tiny Walmart became a tiny Super Walmart. And there's actually a decent Mexican restaurant. Other than that, nothing.

20. If you could go back and tell your younger self anything, what would it be?
Like Em said, STOP BEING SUCH A DRAMA QUEEN! man, if one person crossed me, I was all up in that letting them know how I felt, etc etc etc. I just needed to learn to take it in stride and let the haters hate haha
Anywhoo, I'm not much of one for tagging, but I'd love if you all filled this out and linked me to it! It'd be awesome to read your answers! I wish I had photos to go along with mine but I dont :( Bah humbug!
xoxo

PS; Someone who reads my blog is giving some girl some serious hell on her FormSpring just because her name on there is KaeBee-something-or-other... Chill dudes and dudettes. She's not copying me. I don't have the name protected by copyright or anything. It's just a name. Silly bees! :P Someone brought it to my attention anonymously on FormSpring (twice actually) and I see no big deal there. So it's cool. I know about it, and I'm not worried. ♥ Thanks for keeping your eyes open though.

Seven Things....

I was tagged by the lovely Riah and I have to blog Seven Facts about myself. This might be a little bit tough but... I'm going to give it a go! in the meantime, go check out her blog and say hello :)

  1. I'm blind in my left eye. When I was really young I had constant high high fevers and it was an onset of my severe Asthma [I practically lived in the hospital until I was 7 or so]. Well the constant high fevers practically burnt my optic nerve up in my left eye and thus resulted in me being blind. Now, it's not like it's pitch black or anything... I can see remnants of value, but I cannot distinguish anything or any actual color. I've never seen out of both eyes before, so I'm prone to asking silly questions about the ability to do so. [This hindered me in softball... I was horrible at bat because I lead with my left eye and it really throws off my depth perception.] And a funny story: My dad was never really around much when I was little, but when I'd go visit him I'd tell him my "bad eye" was my right eye because I had to wear an eye patch for several hours a day to strengthen my left eye.. well I'd tell him it was my right eye so he'd put the patch on the left eye and I could still watch cartoons. hahahahaha.
  2. I'm an only child. It was really just my mom and myself growing up. Like I said previously, my dad wasn't around. However, he had another son and daughter [16 and 14 years my senior, respectively]. I got kind of close to my half-sister, but now I honestly don't even speak to that side of the family aside from occasional holiday texts from her or my brother-in-law. I like it just being me and my mom [and my step-dad, now].
  3. I'm named after my late aunt and cousin [Valerie Kay and Stephanie Dawn] so my name is Kaelah Dawn. My aunt Kay and my mother were really really close growing up. She had a little girl named Stephanie and unfortunately in 1974 they were both killed in a fiery car crash. My aunt was 22 and Stephanie was 2. [This was 14 years before I was born] So in honor of them both, my mother took both of their middle names and named me. The crazy weird part is: I'm exactly like my Aunt Kay. I look like her, I have the same personality as her, and she was always very very athletic growing up. I'll post a photo of her one day. :) If i could go back and meet anyone in the world, it would HANDS DOWN be her.
  4. I was 99% sure I'd go to college for Sports Medicine. It just kind of felt 'right' I guess. Being that I played sports all growing up. I'm glad I didn't though... not that it wouldn't be rewarding, but I really love what I'm doing now.
  5. I have an undying love of vintage teacups and tea pots. Really. I do. Send me some! :P
  6. I have no intention on stopping the tattoo process any time soon. Next on the list are tribute & memorial tattoos for my Nana and Papa on the back of my calves.
  7. I have my septum pierced, and have had it for 6 years. I keep it flipped up [it tickles when it's down!] so a lot of people have never even laid eyes on it. Mike constantly heckles me to wear it down because he really loves it. so maybe today I will :)
Awesome! My 7 things are done! Now it's time to tag 7 other people!
