Peanut Butter and Jelly

I broke out the trusty Style Oasis blazer from ModCloth yesterday! It'd been a while since I had worn it, and to be honest, I wasn't too stoked on how I styled it up the first time. I think I'm just not crazy for that white dress. Actually, it was that headband. It didn't even match, but I digress. I'm much more into this styling. I'm smitten with this sweet purple dress (another from Ross. So sue me!). The ruffles at the bust art just darling! It's the sister dress to this yellow one here

Isn't this blazer just something else!? I am in love with it. It's lightweight enough to wear in the summer without totally dying. That's a must in Tennessee! It's hitting 100 degrees here now! It's not even so much that it's hot... but it's humid! It's sticky and gross and boy oh boy I can't wait to get to my parents' pool on Monday morning! We had plans to go down tomorrow but Mike is going to be an assistant photog at a wedding tomorrow. (Speaking of which, replies to those emails coming soon!)

Work last night was a total bust. It was so dead. It kind of terrifies me because I'm not in a position to lose that job. I've been there for five years now and the summers are just awful. I tend to get cut after about 3 hours (if that) and I spend an hour driving each way. Some nights it's bank, and some nights I don't even cover my gas down there. Yikes!

The Little Chief Honeybee dress is back in stock on ModCloth! I know several of you stylin' ladies snagged it up so if you missed out the first time, click HERE to grab your own! Let me know if you get it because I'm planning a style challenge here on the blog with it! I'd love to showcase you wearing it with your favorite accessories with a little shoutout and of course linking over to your blog!

While we're on the topic of ModCloth, I picked out some of my favorite bits and bobs to share with you all! Fille The Love dress (love that fun collar!), You and Ikat dress (that print! those colors! I die!), Flower Market Morning dress (I love the pleats! Makes me wanna wear it to the Farmer's Market, yes?!), Sunny Days dress (that yellow crinkle fabric is fab!), and perhaps my most favorite (which also happens to be sold out) the Too Much Fun dress (it's so perfectly 50's!). (Have you seen these shoes?! AHH!)

Okay! Stuff to do! Then work work work! Happy Saturday! xo

Even in light of recent computer woes, my new iMac and I are getting along rather nicely. Still trying to work out in the kinks with Apple and MacAuthority to have my 250gb harddrive replaced in my MacBook Pro (Apple will only cover 160gb of it but hopefully MA will help me out!). I had a mini-breakdown yesterday about everything I lost but I pulled myself together and I'm making the most of it! I hate to be such a sap! Anyway- I'm ready to be posting some outfit photos from last week. It's good timing too because the weather in Nashville is such crap right now (Well, I love thunderstorms, but they're not very conducive to my blog. Neither is Mike's work schedule. sigh

I wore this outfit out and about this weekend when Mike and I decided to head out for Mexican food. Las Palmas is a little mexican restaurant down Charlotte Pike and we were thoroughly impressed. They claim to have the best margaritas in town but I'm not much for those!

The dress was sent to me by ModCloth and I am in love! The print, fit, silhouette and length are perfect! So many dresses now are booty skimmers (and I stand tall at a staggering 5'2!) so when I opened this to see that it was of decent length to wear sans tights, I was elated. (And I really don't like to not wear tights. Yow!) Peep them pasty white legs! (You can also see a little mosquito giving me a big ol bite in one of them! Okay, enough parentheses!) Paired with my cork platforms, this is totally a 70's style number.  The shoes are my Blowfish faves and I opted to go a rather controversial route with the lacy socks. I know oh so many are against the 90's childhood throwback but I wanted to try. And to be honest, I kind of like it. But hey, that's just me!

I wish the weather would cooperate with me a bit. I have so many errands to run today and the rain really isn't helping matters much! Either way, off I go! xo

I've been holding onto this fun and exciting news for several weeks now, and I'm so so so thrilled I can finally share with you all! This little blog (and I) have been chosen as ModCloth's newest Blogger of the Moment! It's truly an exciting honor as some of my very very favorite ladies have donned the title themselves, and to think that LCH has come that far is astounding!

It all started with a little floral dress, a black cardigan, black tights and black bow flats! It was my staple wardrobe of choice for quite a while, and because of y'all I branched out! First it was a different color cardigan (ha!), then colored tights, and finally... against everything I had ever believed... I opted for some funky shoes! Now my obsession continues. While dresses, cardigans, tights and flats may be my staple, I'm so glad that my style has evolved into something a little more versatile. While you still won't find me wearing jeans, I'm in love with giant platforms, wedges, and funky booties.

Little Chief Honeybee certainly wouldn't be the blog that it is without all of you! You're my number one source of inspiration and I'm tickled to share this with you!

My namesake dress is the cutest little thing in my opinion (of course I'm biased!) but I think it truly shows my style. Florals, two toned dresses and pearly buttons galore! I hope you take a chance to check it out and maybe snag your own! (If you do, send me pictures of you wearing it! I'd love to share on the blog!)

Until then, please check out my ModCloth Interview, Little Chief Honeybee dress and my Favorite ModCloth items! xo

Wanted: Exec. Director of Pretty Petals

I know what you're thinking.... "Really Kaelah? Eleven pictures? Was that necessary?" and my answer: "Absolutely!" I'm sort of in love with our building. Everything about our new home has me beaming with pure joy! From the rough and worn exterior to the industrious look and feel on the inside. There is so much character in our new home! We've only had two sets of pals over to see it thus far. Neither our parents nor any neighbors have seen our place (There was the 2 Comcast fellas, but they don't count!). We're relishing in the "new home" feel and trying to make it a relaxing, yet inspiring, place. Truth be told, I can't wait to show any and everyone. We're so proud of how much heart (and elbow grease!) we've put into our little sanctuary!

Today's weather is rather hum drum. There's a storm a'brewin and I'm ecstatic. Though it looks like the fun portion will miss us, I'm enjoying the wind whipping through the trees outside our window. Since we do live in such an industrious place, we're afraid that the heating and cooling may be slightly spendy, so we opted to buy a one of those chic tower fans yesterday. Well, the truth is they were sold out of everything else so that's what we had to get haha. We're going to take advantage of open windows for as long as possible!

This blazer is pretty bananas, don't you think?! I'm in love! ModCloth sent it my way and I am head over heels for it! I'm planning on having it custom tailored so it fits my body just perfectly! It's so comfortable and it's the perfect lightweight piece for a windy day in Nashville! It's so loud so I opted to wear it with a solid white dress and then I took a cue from the pretty pale purple petals (Say that five times fast!) and went for some loud tights, too! I finished it off with my ultra comfy and fall back shoes, my trusty black flats! The woven and knotted belt is another new favorite of mine, and my thirfted little chain bag. This outfit felt very Lolita-esque once I looked at myself in the mirror. White doll-like dress, curly bright hair and Crayola-worthy tights? Hey, why not! I can't wait to style this blazer with my normal dark brown, wavy mess of a 'do!

The blog title is set like a job posting and it's definitely been a little dream of mine to work at a florist shop or something equally as quaint after college just for part time fun. I'd love to be in a beautiful atmosphere and after years of working in the computer, I just want to get my hands dirty. I've been perusing Craigslist and the like for small job opportunities just to get me out of the house a few hours a week. I toyed with the idea of getting a full time design job and then I snapped back to reality. Silly! (If you know of any fun places like sweet floral shops or even small boutiques looking for hires in Nashville, let a girl know! I'd like to learn hands on how to run an independent business!)

Well, we're off to see what we can get into! We desperately need to be productive today! It's just so hard!

PS; This was Pipkin as we were taking outfit photos outside of our window!

PPS; Every now and then I forget I'm wearing a very special ring so when I see it pop up in outfit photos I do an internal-squeal and remember that I'm engaged to a truly wonderful person! Ah! I'm on cloud 9, even still!

Wishy Wishy Wishlist!

I'll be turning the big 2-3 in 11 days! Birthdays have never really been my cup 'o tea and I'm not too sure why. I love to celebrate with other people and make pretty presents for their day, but I don't get too into mine. But it does give me an excuse to "window shop" online and compile a ridiculous wishlist of things I wish I could procure! I took a few minutes to pick and choose a few things that have stuck out to me the past few weeks to share below! You'll be able to tell there is definitely a trend going lately!

1. swaying in the breeze dress via shop ruche, $44.99 2. jeffrey campbell lita heels in distressed brown leather via solestruck, $159.95 3. stila eyeshadow in jezebel, eden and java (not shown) via sephora, $18 each 4. jeffrey campbell foxy heels (skyline view) via modcloth, $137.99 5. too faced designer sample set via sephora, $45 6. girly bird gets the worm dress via modcloth, $97.99 7. jeffrey campbell foxy wood fur platforms via solestruck, $139.95 8. marc jacobs "daisy" perfume via sephora. 9. paint the roses red dress via modcloth, $99.99 10.  public figure dress via modcloth, $159.99 11. jeffrey campbell wedges (good morning sunshine) via modcloth, $139.99

It's obvious that I've grown obsessed with Jeffrey Campbell shoes and I'd love to add several more pairs to my pre-existing two. I can already tell that 23 will be a year of high shoes, red dresses, and hopefully lots of personal style evolution! I feel like my style has changed so much in the past couple of months. I hope that the change continues!

It's quite possible that I could sustain life shopping only via Sephora, ModCloth, and Solestruck. Ooh la la!

I'm still trying to write up my "23 before 24" list so I can share my goals for the year. I'm wondering if it makes me a boring person that I can't think of 23 things!

What are a few items on your wishlist?!

PS; Angiieee asked for my address for cards and things of that nature and it's always in my FAQ, but I'll share it below. (Please, do not feel any sort of obligation to send anything! I'll admit I do always love keeping and collecting sweet cards and letters from blog readers! I also attempt to respond to them all, but I officially earn the title of World's Worst Penpal!) A simple Happy Birthday comment would be way more than enough! :P

Outfit Post : Saturday, September 11

dress: modcloth, belt: thrifted, flats: kmart

A silly gif of outtakes:

I received a box full of my ModCloth goodies yesterday and much to my dismay, I was completely and totally underwhelmed. The items were all gorgeous though, don't get me wrong. But as a pear-shaped gal, I find online shopping to almost always be an utter disappointment. I have to be able to try on things in store because my small chest and my big ol' behind just doesn't fit things easily. I put them all back in the box and let them sit overnight. Today I put on one of the dresses that I actually really enjoyed and realized that it looked much better than I thought. This was a pleasant surprise.

While the motif may be that of nautical, it is also a nice play on patriotic Americana on such a fateful day. I've tried to stay away from the news for the majority of the day as most of it is just so sad and depressing. I can honor and appreciate the day and all of those affiliated without being bombarded with the traumatic images that I first witnessed in my 8th grade homeroom class.

Mike came home from work and we decided to go out for a mini-date night. We went and indulged in Mexican food and now we're sitting on the couch watching National Geographic. (The Whale That Ate Jaws comes on in 11 minutes!) We're going to DVR it and he's going to go to work with me tonight. (I love that he gets to go to work with me! Makes it so much more enjoyable!) Last night was a bit dead so I was cut after only 4 hours. Hopefully tonight will be a different story.

I'll include a few more photos after the jump. Simply because I'm in love with the color combo.

By the way, I listed a few of the dresses over at my closet today. CLICK HERE to go visit the shop and pick up a frock or two! Also- I've received a lot of interest in the Huge Handmade Giveaway and all the spots are nearly filled! I want to make this a huge and fantastic giveaway so if you're interested in submitting your stuff, CLICK HERE to read about how to go about it!

Want Wednesday!

This week's wishlist is via ModCloth! I splurged a bit and bought 7 dresses and 1 jacket this weekend during the huge Last Hurrah sale (I hope they fit!) but these are all regular priced items that I'm currently drooling over. Oh ModCloth, hook a girl up!

Is my floral obsession still showing? I love the "Sewing Class" dress because it slightly reminds me of Woody from Toy Story! Pair it with a sweet pair of rustic brown cowboy boots and girl, you're ready to go!
