update!

anyone wanna buy this sweet baby for me??!?! miu miu, get in my life. i'm lusting after this in the worst way....

man oh man. busy busy busy. work went very well, i'm happy to report. very glad about this. i did have an unexpected conversation with someone whilst there but all is well so i won't let it bother me too much. i spent a lot of time at panera in cool springs yesterday working on some stuff, though i was fairly unproductive. if you follow me on twitter you know i have a silly (read: huge) crush on a fella that works there and i've never spoken more than a "hmm? yeah! thanks!" to him... and that was yesterday. followed by me putting my headphones back in and looking away, all the while he was standing in front of me, attempting to say something... i totally blew it. WAY TO GO, KAELAH! WAY TO GO! A PLUS! ugh... i wish i wasnt so awkward and weird and totally a wuss when it comes to boys. he probably thinks i'm a total jerk. man oh man. moving on...

right now i'm at the coffee beanery and i've been working on my flash project. its a cute little owl in a nest attempting to fly. except it really doesnt look like much now. ugh, as long as i finish that class with an A (or at least a high high B) i'll be slightly happy. oh, i forgot to mention, we got our grades back from advertising and everyone competes for stickers for "the best" etc, it sounds silly but its actually quite competitive, but much to my surprise i got a sticker for the best direct mail piece in my campaign :D this excited me. though he wasn't shy to write on my grade sheet that my typography needed some work (which i whole-heartedly agree, i just got lazy). it was a nice little pick-me-up after a long day.

i think bry is going to take off work early today and we might venture to opry mills in nashville for a bit before i have to go to work. i have gift cards that are just playing it cool in my wallet and i'd like to get a new dress or two. :) love love love.

i've been reading over the september TV issue of Nylon... as i really really do NOT like nylon magazine. i'm sorry.. i just don't buy into the whole LA-is-superior hype... though i will admit that the editorial layouts are PHENOMENAL! and they continue to be the only reason i even pick up the publication. well, that and the over-abundance of sans-serif typography. hmm..

thursday.

i'm having one of those nights where i'm unsure of everything. i'm unsure of my major in college (even though i'm now a senior), i'm unsure of my job, i'm unsure of my decision to rid certain people from my life (yes, this means more than one), i'm unsure of where i'm headed after i graduate, i'm unsure of what i'm even going to do tomorrow.

and all of this terrifies me.

i just need to remember that life is a journey, not a destination. then maybe ill remember to breath and it'll all be okay. i'm so nervous.

i've been paint-doodling a lot lately. and sewing silly little felt and fleece creatures. pending that everything goes well at work tomorrow night, i'm buying a bicycle. :) finally.

the painting is far far far from finished. lots of detail needed. but i need to find the time. oh time!

also thinking of changing the name of the blog. my oh my.

new tattoo.

so i spent most of yesterday sitting in hendersonville with bryan. we went up around 3pm and didnt get home until 11pm. i got tattooed for almost 4 hours. we worked on laying out the forearm and he outlined 75% of it. i just have to go back for the outlining of the compass. i wasn't sold on the sketch so i held out. right now i have an octopus, the ink cloud and the treasure chest outlined. and boy oh boy did it hurt! ugh, the forearm was not fun. the worst part was it was hurting even more after he stopped. we picked up some bactine on the way home though so it numbed it right up. today was sore too. and its still red. not fun at all. today i had web 2 (information architecture) class and someone was on my side because i didnt TOTALLY do 3 full designs and luckily he gave us until tuesday. woohoo! afterwards i took Georgia to the vet (30 massive pounds now!) to get her 3rd round of shots and then i went to panera for a bit. then elle came over and she, bry and i watched the office, i cleaned my room and voila! here i am!

i need to sleep soon. lame ol' art history in the morning. yuck. and then i get to go to work and pray that i still have a job. ugh. i hope all this drama goes away quickly. wish me luck!

things i love thursday

my oh my! long overdue! i wish i could make time to do it every singled thursday, or at least once a week, but sadly i cannot. however, we will not dwell on that. instead, we will simply bask in all that is awesome in this week's "things i love!" huzzah!

1. where the wild things are! i know i'm not the only one counting down the days until this comes out! fifteen! whoever baked this cake... you are my hero. just so you know. WTWTA is totally my desktop background too. love it.

2. my paper crane. she makes amazing plush creations. basically everything i've ver wanted to make with felt, etc, she does! incredible. i really want to own like 75% of the things she makes. specifically this boat above. anyone wanna get me an early christmas present? ;) click HERE to see her website!

4. outfit inspiration! you all should know two things about me by now: 1. i love cardigans. 2. i love big belts, even if they serve no real purpose.

5. the pefect shade of red hair! gorgeous. gorgeous. gorgeous.

6. swingsets! and just playgrounds in general. feeling like a kid again and competing to see who can get the highest the fastest and then doing the totally smart thing of jumping off mid-air and then totally face planting (at least in my situations ha!). so many friends have broken arms and wrists and ankles, but oh the joy they bring! i love just venturing over to pinkerton park behind my house and swinging around for a bit. oh to be a kid again!

7. clever, sarcastic word graphics! i don't know what site (if any) this is from, but i know it's not the only one. i remember acquiring it via tumblr so if you guys know where they're from or if you have any of the others, i'd love to see them! i like the sarcasm stuff today, huh?

8. new york city! manhattan! don't worry, my dear dear busy city. i shall be back home soon.

9. the office. any & everything related. this is my friend derek. i hope he doesn't mind i totally ripped this off of his facebook haha but he's over in europe for the next two months so i doubt he'll mind :P he dressed up as Dwight Schrute for halloween. classic! he pulls it off SO PERFECTLY! im eternally jelaous of his sweet get-up! and this make me remember that a new episode of the office comes on tonight so i just called my roomie to make sure its recorded on the DVR just in case i dont get home in time! yes!

10. 666 photography. these images are AMAZING! absolutely breathtaking and the best part? they're releasing a coffee table book in the late part of this year (aka soon!) so be sure to go check it out! :D so excited for this. i'd love to have this on my coffee table... you know, if my roommates didnt let the daggum thing get sticky and filthy all the time. hmph! best saved for my place once i graduate maybe? click HERE to go view the website!
